It was great to meet and exchange ideas with accomplished alumni of the Institute of Business Administration along with the amazing faculty and dean of the School of Business Studies, IBA Karachi.

The discussion revolved around the future of IBA, the latest industry trends, the skillset, and the mindset needed for students joining the corporate world and industry-academic relations.

The Dean, Dr Abdullah Zafar Sheikh, and the faculty such as Atif Murtaza, Amer Awan, Muhammad Shafique, Ph.D., Sahar Awan, and Dr. Irum Saba, along with other well-known teachers explained the Vision of IBA, achievement, and progress so far, and future plans to become a top global business school.

I am honored to have been invited by my alma mater, IBA-Institute of Business Administration, to participate in a pivotal preamble meeting aimed at charting the future course of the School of Business Studies (SBS).

This gathering brought together key industry leaders and experts across different walks of life to collaboratively devise a strategic plan for the IBA School of Business.

The session commenced with an insightful introduction and overview of SBS by Dr. Abdullah Zafar, Dean of the School of Business Studies. What followed was a dynamic and collaborative discussion around three key themes:

🔹Envisioning the Next Decade: Contemplating where we envision IBA-SBS to be in the next 10 years.

🔹Emerging Trends: Exploring new trends shaping the landscape of business education and strategies to stay ahead of the curve.

🔹Adapting to Market Dynamics: Discussing strategies to adapt and thrive in the ever-evolving market environment.

The session generated invaluable insights and diverse perspectives, which are essential for devising a robust and forward-thinking strategy for SBS. This collaborative effort ensures that we are well-equipped to navigate future challenges and seize opportunities in business education.

Excited about the journey ahead and looking forward to the positive impact this initiative will have on the future of IBA-SBS!

Where else but at Institute of Business Administration does one get the opportunity to sit with such an amazing group of leaders!!

The School of Business Studies, IBA Karachi hosted industry experts for a discussion on the future of studies, IBA’s role in the changing industry landscape and the perception of the school and IBA by top companies in Pakistan.

Was reminded of the clout that the IBA Alumni have and also how we need to engage with them better through more holistic channels than reunions and meet and greets as the wealth of knowledge they possess determines the direction industries and the country moves towards!

Attendees included Ghias Khan, Zafar Masud, Muhammad Ali, Najeeb Agrawalla, Dr. Owais H. Shaikh, Hamza Abdul Rauf, Muhammad Shoaib Akhter, Haroon Qassim, Farah Asim, Bilal Javeri and Sana Kizilbash. Points discussed included making graduates industry-ready, improving the quality and perception of IBA graduates through timely interventions, designing curriculum and programs that are future-aligned, building character as well as skills of the students, identifying key measurable metrics by which to gauge IBA’s success and how to leverage any accreditations so that they open uncharted avenues for IBA.
