“MILKAR” Book Launch of Zafar Masud’s “Seat 1C” Highlights Trauma and Recovery — Complete Event Video


Zafar Masud, a survivor of the 2020 PIA plane crash, unveiled his book “Seat 1C: A Survivor’s Tale of Hope, Resilience of Renewal” at the National Academy of Performing Arts in Karachi. The event was part of the “MILKAR” mental health campaign, founded by the Mir Khalil-ur-Rehman Foundation and the British Asian Trust, aiming to raise awareness and provide support for mental health issues.

Masud shared insights on the aftermath of trauma, emphasizing the importance of seeking help and addressing mental health from multiple perspectives. He encouraged trauma survivors to take proactive steps towards recovery. The event was attended by notable figures, including MQM-P leader Nasreen Jalil and Masud’s family. The tragic crash, which claimed 97 lives, left only two survivors, including Muhammad Zubair, who recounted his harrowing experience.
